What it means to be your Merchant of Record

Vandly acts as the Merchant of Record (MoR) for every transaction on the platform. This means Vandly legally purchases your digital product and resells it to your customer — instantly. This is a legal construct only: you keep full ownership and control of your product at all times.

As your MoR, Vandly takes on full responsibility for:

You remain responsible only for declaring your personal income in your country of residence. Everything else is on us.

Please note: Income tax declaration in your country of residence remains your responsibility.

As an EU-based platform, Vandly complies with DAC7 — a European directive that requires digital platforms to report seller income to relevant tax authorities.

In practice, this means Vandly may report your annual earnings to EU tax authorities if you earn above a certain threshold. We will notify you directly if this applies to you.

Please note: DAC7 reporting is Vandly’s obligation only. It does not mean we handle your personal tax obligations. You remain responsible for declaring your income in your country of residence.
